Shots like these make my heart twinge. Lol.

Above, he's known for his word play when painting a wall. Or there's always a bit of a story behind his walls, like the few below.
Just wrapped these up in Madrid this month...
"This Spanish flamenco guitarist plays in a somber mood and is anticipating that his music will make the woman dance thus helping EASE his TEARS.
"The Female Flamenco dancer is dependent on the guitarist to play music that will TEASE her EARS make her dance.
"The relationship and co-dependency of both characters in need of the others interaction to find happiness is sensual and vulnerable."

I love when a wall has a story.

They paint like it's nada

You know how when your favorite rapper or singer puts out a new single and you get high key excited for it? That's how I feel when I see all the new work my favorite artists have been hammering out. For example, el Mac and Retna.

El Mac just recently put out a new print titled 'Ixtacchuital' and I am absolutely in love with it.

"The title is "Ixtaccihuatl" (basically pronounced "ee.stok.SEE.wot") which is the name of a large mountain in Mexico said to resemble a sleeping woman. The myth behind this has inspired countless popular Mexican/Chicano paintings, drawings, calendars, murals, tattoos, merchandise, etc portraying an Azteca warrior cradling his dead lover. This is my sincere take on this traditional theme using my brushwork style."-Mac

I greatly appreciate the fact that he maintains such roots of humble-ness, which anyone can plainly see by reading the above.
And then another recent Retna/El Mac collab...titled 'Gracias a la Vida'.

I love creative people, some of my favorite people in the world.

Flick post,, lol. Joy's last night before she dipped off to Germany, Austria, and Italy. This bitch is going to Lake Como (in Italy), and she did not seem to realize the pure dopeness of the location. If anyone remembers, Lake Como is the setting for a lot of Oceans 12 (the dope ass lake with the huge mansion that the French thief resides in? Yeeeea. That Lake). It's okay though, I schooled her ass. Now she knows. Lol. We were on some other shit this night...FUN though.

update

Whewwww,, it's been a second. I've jumped online to check my email and read things, but there seems like there hasn't been enough time to sit down and blog. Always requires a bit more thought, as it should. Lol.

The above flick is from the Dream/Keri Hilson concert this past Tuesday night. No digital camera, so I didn't manage to get any pics at the show, but it was real cool. Not a huge crowd, which makes sense, it was just the two of them, no one else, and the both of them are still what seems to be up on the come-up.
Keri Hilson is more of a interacter-with-the-crowd type, she talks to the crowd. The Dream, he's the performer. I'd say the both of them are transitioning incredibly well into the performing part of the music industry.

Just started this housesitting gig for one of my main's older sister's and husband. It's quite the house, not some grandiose casa, but it's very well decorated, with a pool. Who am I to complain, lol, and I'm getting paid to sleep here and play with their sweet dogs. Yeeeeeeee.

Updates to follow. I'm starting to organize the clutter in my mind. ; ))

Outfit: -fitted strapless retro floral dress-$22
-high top black Chucks
-silver doorknockers- $2 = $24

Pulling off a fit that someone actually had the nerve to doubt? PRICELESS.

Hahah,, with that being said, I wish I had more and BETTER pictures of what I was wearing. Dammit Moses and his ass running away in Agua Prieta with my camera in his pocket...in the past though...lol.
Long long weekend. Work,, chillin, catching up with people who I shouldn't have to catch up with (partly my fault, lol). Caught Maloi's art show this past weekend, AMAZING, that's all I'm going to say. Thanks to missSummer from the FreshFiends for the flicks she took, I wish I had a camera with me, luckily blog pic sharing can be handy.!
I'm hoping this week goes by fast, next week is sure to be a great week. But I got my fingers crossed for a few things...

Quote of the semana

“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”

— Jim Morrison.

Saw this gem of words on Homegirlshandgrenades and it jumped out at me. I've got a friend who's been raving about the truth Jim Morrison speaks for a minute now, and I see what he's talking about.
Feelings are can definitely be disturbing, on so many levels. They disturb in a variety of ways, and one discloses these at their discretion. Somebody out there isn't always going to like what YOU are feeling. They may doubt it, demean it, or dumb it down, but your pain is you. It is legitimate.
Sometimes others just don't deserve to know, or it's just not their business, but I know I'm gonna stand up for my right to feel my own pain. Because feeling it and acknowledging it, it's what is carving a stronger me.

watchME

My brother was asking me if I had seen the trailer to this flick yet, and now I have. A version of Sherlock Holmes, directed by Guy Ritchie.! I am looking forward to this big time, comes out this Christmas. Robert Downey Jr. is shaping up to be a good choice, but man, did anyone ever picture some stodgy detective looking SOripped? Ha.!

Grabbed this from Keegan Gibb's portfolio, the Piece of Mind trailer. Hahah,,FCK the man. Check out Gibb's though, I've become a fan of his work, his current flicks of his trip in Bali? PROPER. Check him.
